Giving back to the Community
33rd Company® proudly contributes to Dakota Communities every time a home is leased! Dakota Communities supports people with disabilities and their direct support allows them to live independent and successful lives. Owners and Renters can take pride in providing indirect support of this wonderful community organization.
Dakota Communities is a non-profit organization founded in West St. Paul in 1972 by parents of children with disabilities, volunteers, and community partners. They support adults and children in their family homes, their communities, and 33 Dakota Communities residential settings throughout the Greater Twin Cities metropolitan area.
Dakota Communities serves a broad spectrum of people with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities such as Cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, Multiple Sclerosis, autism, and brain injury.
Respect of individual and family needs has been the philosophy of Dakota Communities from the beginning. Over time, a "person-centered program" was developed to emphasize what each person with disabilities wanted, needed and hoped for in his or her future.
Our innovative health and wellness initiative includes healthy nutrition, gardening, personalized health coaching, pet therapy, volunteerism, and employee wellness opportunities.
Vision: Be a model of excellence in a world that creates possibilities for people of all abilities.
Mission: Dakota Communities partners with people with disabilities to realize their goals and potential.
Values: Advocacy , Community, Compassion, Integrity, Joy, Leadership, Stewardship, Wellness
